From Nothingness to Dreams. DADA AND SURREALISM FROM THE BOIJMANS VAN BEUNINGEN MUSEUM COLLECTION

The exhibition is curated by Marco Vallora and organised by the Ferrero Foundation in Alba, where it will be held from 27 October 2018 to 25 February 2019.

AN INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION

Artwork of the highest level and impact are on display in a thematic sequence that reflects the exemplary concepts of nihilistic poetry in Dadaism and the pro-active poetry of Surrealism: happenings, the ugly, dreams, the subconscious, the relationship with antiquity, the link between art and ideology.

The exhibition catalogue is published by Silvana Editoriale.

THE WORKSHOPS

There are four free educational programmes: The Wonder Box, Dreams and Visions, The Enigma in the Drawer, This Is Not a Window. These enable an in-depth look at the two artistic movements represented, Dadaism and Surrealism. They also give the option of concentrating on a specific artist, Salvador Dalì or René Magritte.
