HEALTHY AGING WEEK 2025

10-15 november 2025

Roadmap to Active Aging: Better Health for All

Healthy Aging Week 2025

The 2025 edition of Healthy Ageing Week offered a rich overview of the topic of active ageing, addressed from scientific, social and cultural perspectives. From 10 to 15 November, researchers, international experts and professionals in the field exchanged ideas in conferences, workshops and public events.

The week opened with an in-depth look at the human-animal relationship and the benefits of animal-assisted interventions in supporting older people. This was followed by reflections on demographic change, the role of caregivers and the challenges facing an ageing society, also in light of new scientific data.

Ample space was devoted to the biology of ageing, the mechanisms that influence health throughout life and strategies for prolonging healthspan. Topics included osteoporosis, sarcopenia, oxidative stress, environmental impacts and the opportunities offered by new technologies, including artificial intelligence.

Each day ended with the informative cycle “Dopo le Sei” (After Six), a moment of discussion on everyday issues related to ageing – from music to sport – with the aim of making science accessible and close to the community.

The final conference brought together leading figures from academia and institutions, who proposed a vision of longevity as a shared responsibility: a balance between research, care, relationships, prevention and attention to the social and environmental context.

Healthy Ageing Week 2025 thus confirmed its mission: to promote an idea of active, conscious and sustainable ageing, capable of enhancing the well-being of the individual in all its dimensions.
